This story is based on true story and it is just like mine. Just letting you know that, I felt like writing this.. Alex is a girl, who is also a tomboy like me.
Alex's Story
Baby-Age of 10
Starting off when Alex was in her mother's womb, her mother gave birth to her, well.. her mum had to be cut open just to get her out. Alex spent 8 days in the baby zone, where they sleep. Her grandma kept looking through that window and thought how wonderful Alex is. Her dad was the one who named her, Alex.
When Alex was only a baby, her mother kept going to work while grandma looks after Alex. Alex's mother and father were not married, but they were a couple. Her dad lived 20 minutes away from mother. Father's youngest brother came down from overseas and he couldn't speak English properly. Usually, you have to be an Australian Citizen if you want to drive and etc. So, father's youngest brother was an Australian Citizen, he drove up to father's house. On the way to Father's house, there was two bikers in front of him. He thought they were just people riding their motorbikes, so he changed lane to go pass them. However, the two bikers changed lane when father's youngest brother changed lane. He got pretty frustrated because they won't let him pass. So, he beeped at them. The bikers felt offended and followed him to Father's house.
Father asked his youngest brother, how come you brought bikers home? His brother said they kept following him and he beeped at him. Father said, "You're in a big trouble mate!" Father said he'll go to talk them since he knows more English than his brother. Father told those two bikers that, it was just a misunderstanding and after that, Alex's dad had got beaten up. The two bikers, hit his head, bashed him until he could not move. While that had happen, younger brother was told to look after Shannon and Nina at the back. Father have another two kids, from his ex-wife. Shannon is the boy and Nina is the girl. They are half cast.
Father was sent to hospital as soon as possible. Mother was devastated about what had happened to father. Alex did not know anything or what was going on, because she was only a baby. Every single day, mother would always come over to father's house along with Alex and mother would always feed father and do his chores. After Father's recovery, the two bikers had to give him money for the damaged they had course father. Father did not owe mother for what she had done to him. He went overseas and tried to get any girl and come back to Australia, mother did not found out until Father's mother had told mother what he has been doing. Mother was upset that she did not want to see Father again.
Few years later
Father hasn't been coming down lately to visit Alex's family. Mother doesn't want to see him nor does grandma. One day, father came to visit Alex. When grandma called out Alex, she went out to see who it was. Grandma asked if Alex wanted to hang with this man. She was frightened, so she ran off. Grandma said to father, "Look, you've been gone for far too long and your daughter does not even recognise you. Why don't you come few time a year and visit her, so she can get used to you." So father listened to Grandma. So, father comes to visit Alex, though she would still run away because she thinks his a stranger wanting to hang and go out. Grandma said to father,"Why don't you come every weekend and spend time with Alex? " Father did what Grandma had told him. Every weekend, father would always come over and visit Alex. Alex started to open up to her dad, but felt a little awkward. Father took her to her cousin's house and hang.
Father stopped picking Alex up when she was almost 10 years old. The reasons for this was because mother told her that father has cancer. Alex, didn't really understood the word cancer, she knew what it was but didn't know what. Alex had to visit Father's house every now and then, he was sent to hospital three times.
On a Sunday, when Alex was suppose to be at church with Mother. Mother and Alex went down to the car to get something. Dad's brother called mother to say he is going soon. Mother and Alex had to rush to the room where he was staying in. Soon, father became a different colour and cold. Alex and the family were in tears. They all had a say to father before he'd pass away. They all held his hands including Shannon and Nina. During that minute, Alex's father was gone. March 29th, 2004 he had passed away.
Alex said, "Even though, I was always shy and nervous to open up to my father. But all I know that he was a great dad to me. I would never forget this." Father had spent times with Alex. Alex would always cherish the moment she had spend with her dad alone and with Shannon and Nina and cousins.
